Contemporary art reflects the world we live in – what moves us, challenges us, and makes us think in new ways. But how do ideas transform into art? And why is it relevant to you?

Kunsthal Aarhus opens the doors to the engine room of art, with artists creating in real time, inspired by a current exhibition. You’ll get a chance to follow their thoughts, experiments, and decisions – and perhaps discover that contemporary art is not as distant as you think.

The day begins at 12:15 with a lively conversation, where artists share their perspective on an exhibition: What catches their attention? How do they read a piece? And what inspires them? Get a glimpse into their thought processes, ask your own questions, and take home new tools to interpret the exhibition in your own way. No prior knowledge is required – just bring your curiosity.

After the conversation, the artists will interpret the current exhibition KP25 & SPRING25, an annual showcase of the latest trends in contemporary art. You’ll have the opportunity to move freely among the new talents in the art world, look over the artists’ shoulders, follow their process from idea to finished work, and experience the art through their eyes.

So bring a friend, get a glimpse into the world of art, and wash down the impressions with a coffee in the vibrant café or courtyard.

It’s free, informal, and open to everyone.
