For the fifth edition of our Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club, we're excited to welcome Amsterdam-based critical fashion researcher and publisher, Hanka van der Voet.
Hanka van der Voet is a critical fashion practitioner whose work explores the self-publishing potential of critical fashion practice as a tool for resistance and community building. She combines academic inquiry with publishing-as-practice to challenge extractive and oppressive logics in the fashion system.
Her extensive publishing practice includes founding Press & Fold, a “book-as-paginated-exhibition” rethinking fashion outside commercial imperatives; initiating the Warehouse Review for alternative fashion criticism; and establishing the Library of Unruly Fashion Practices, a living archive of anti-capitalist, queer, feminist, and decolonial approaches. Through her small press initiative, Clotheslines Press, she further unravels the intersections of fashion, labour, and feminism.
Looking forward to seeing you, and remember: No preparation required, just curiosity!
