En samtale om ‘Efter naturen’

Free entry
Language: Danish

To mark the new publication: a Danish translation of W.G. Sebald’s poetry collection Efter naturen, Forlaget Atlanten invites translator and Sebald expert Kasper Green Munk and writer, lecturer and Germanist Søren Fauth to discuss language, nature and art in the literary universe of Sebald at Kunsthal Aarhus.

Efter naturen encapsulates a duality in which nature in and around human beings unfolds throughout three poetic narratives involving three men, each from his era of time. Read more here

The discussion is arranged by Forlaget Atlanten and will take place at Kunsthal Aarhus in Shitamichi Motoyuki exhibition ‘A ship went up that hill’. For the black-and-white video works ‘Tsunami Boulders’ Shitamichi documents massive boulders that have been flung far inland by tsunamis. Motoyuki’s small observations turn into more wide-ranging narratives about sustainability and the cycles of nature over time – similar to the themes Sebald explores through his poetry.

There will be a free guided tour in the exhibition before the talk at 5 pm.

The event is free.
Food and drinks will be served Café Kunsthal will be serving food and drinks until 8 pm.

Forlaget Atlanten is a new publisher, that blurs the line between non-fiction and fiction. Noa Kjærsgaard Hansen from Forlaget Atlanten will be moderating the discussion.

The event is supported by Kulturudviklingspuljen, Aarhus Kommune

The talk will be in Danish.
